One day Sally and her older brother were playing at the beach and Sally saw a wave that came out of no where. She said to her brother "where did that wave come from?" and her brother said "Of course any one would know that that wave came form Ogopopgo coming to get you!". Sally ran out of the water screaming and her brother just stood there laughing. Ever since that day Sally never went far out in the water and whenever she saw a wave come out of no where she ran out of the water.
A few years later it was the start of the school year and Sally was still scared of Ogopogo. Sally was now in grade 4. When the bell rang she sat down in her seat and listened to what the teacher was saying. "Today is our second day of grade 4 and we are going to start learning about things that live in the lake like fish" said the teacher "tomorrow we are going to go on a field trip out to the middle of the lake in a boat and we are going to look for fish!".
The next day Sally walked to school slowly thinking about the field trip they were going on. "We're only looking for fish" she thought to herself " And we're probably not going to see Ogopogo, and even if we do we'll be safe in the boat won't we". When Sally got to school the teacher was handing out life jackets to everyone and then they all had to line up at the door and then they started walking down to the beach. Sally was at the back of the line behind her friend, Anna and she couldn't make her legs move. Anna looked back and remembered that Sally was afraid of Ogopogo. "We're not looking for Ogopogo, Sally, we're only going to look for fish, come on we have to catch up!". Sally and her friend ran out the door and caught up with the rest of the class.
When they finally got to the beach everyone got into the boat and the driver started it. They were going really fast. When they got to the middle of the lake the boat stopped and everyone got up to look over the side. Everyone but Sally. The teacher walked over to her and asked her what is wrong. "I'm scared.....I'm scared of....Ogopogo" said Sally quietly. "We're not going to see Ogopogo, Sally" the teacher told her "We're only looking for fish and watching them". That made Sally feel better so she said "Okay....I'll come and look". Sally walked slowly over to the side of the boat and looked over. It wasn't as scary as she thought it would be. She looked over the side again and looked at the whole lake. It was Huge. Sally had never seen the lake from out in the middle of it because she had always been too scared to go out in a boat but now that she had seen the lake like this she was sad that she had never in the 10 years of her life living by the lake went out in a boat. The rest of the time they were out on the boat Sally forgot all about Ogopogo and then when it was time to leave she didn't want to leave the side of the boat if she was allowed to she would ride all the w--- ahhhhh!!! Suddenly the boat started without the driver even near it and Sally went flying off the boat and Anna grabbed her arm and tried to pull her back in! "STOP THE BOAT!" yelled the teacher. The driver ran over to the steering wheel and tried to stop the boat but it was out of control! Sally and Anna could couldn't hold on any longer and they went flying off the side of the boat. They were floating there in the water freezing to death while they watched the boat go speeding away out of control.
Sally saw a tiny island just big enough for 2 people to sit on so she and Anna swam over to it and climbed on. They sat there for a while wondering how long they were going to be there and how the boat started without the driver near it. "Maybe someone in our class when over to the boat and started by accident" said Sally. "Or maybe on purpose!" said Anna.
While Sally and Anna were stuck on that little island the driver of the boat had finally got the boat back in control but the problem was that they were out in the middle of the lake and they had no idea where Sally and Anna were and they also had no idea where they were! Finally after about half an hour they found their way back to the shore but now they just had to find Sally and Anna.
"Sally they're never going to find us out here" said Anna "Our options are to stay out here and freeze to death and die, or our only other option, I'm sorry Sally, is to call Ogopogo and ride on his back". I'd rather DIE!!!!" screamed Sally. "SALLY!" Anna screamed back "You'd rather die than make friends with Ogopogo and ride safely home on his back". "Well.....Okay, I'll ride Ogopogo's back" said Sally. So Anna got out her whistle and blew it. Ogopogo came swimming over to them and Sally suddenly screamed, but before she could scare Ogopogo away Anna slapped her hand over Sally's mouth. When Ogopogo came near enough for Anna to talk to him she said "Ogopogo, can you give us a ride home because we are stuck here on this island". Then Anna told Ogopogo the whole story of how they got stuck out there. Soon Anna was sitting on Ogopogo's back but Sally was still standing on the beach. "Come on Sally were going home" said Anna. Sally slowly walked over to Ogopogo until she was standing in front of him. Ogopogo looked at her and then slowly lowered his tail down so that she could climb on. Sally stood there for a few seconds until suddenly the tree that was standing on the island started to fall. "Jump on Sally!!" yelled Anna. Sally looked back at the falling tree that was right behind her and was about to hit her any second. She had no choice but to jump on. She quickly closed her eyes and jumped on to Ogopogo's tail. Quickly, Ogopogo swam away and the tree fell just behind them. In no time at all they were on the shore. Anna got off of Ogopogo's back first and took out her camera. She took a picture of Sally sitting in his back and then Ogopogo swam away. Sally just stood there staring out at the lake. "Did I just ride on Ogopogo's back?" asked Sally "YES!" screamed Anna feeling really happy for Sally. They both ran back to the school and told everyone that they got back home. They got dried off and changed into dry clothes. everyone was extra happy that they were back home and that nothing bad happened to them.
The two girls told everyone every little detail of the story...
except for one little secret that they kept from the parents and teachers...
they had a ride home on Ogopogo. The only reason they didn't tell them that was because they knew that they would never believe them.
The End!
Great imaganation, and very true, that all 5 year old girls favorite color is pink! Kepp up the awesome work!
