Pickle Write

Hi, I'm Bob the pickle and this is my story of how boring my life is. This is how my day starts.......First I sit in the fridge stuffed into the pickle jar with all the other pickles and wait until someone opens the fridge to take the pickle jar out. Next is the worst part of all.....we have to watch as the pickles at the top get their heads bitten off. My friends and I are very lucky to be one of the pickles at the bottom. After we go through the torture of watching our friends get their heads bitten off we get put back in the fridge to sit and wait until the next time the fridge opens. I really wish that one day I could escape from the pickle jar and run away somewhere where my life would be a lot more exciting than sitting in this pickle jar.
"Hey, Bob" I heard one of my pickle friends, Lary whisper "Look, I think this is the day that one of us is getting our heads bitten off!". When I heard that my eyes sprung open in about a quarter of a second. "WHAT!" I cried so loud the whole world could hear. The first thing I saw when I opened my eyes was not the familiar back of another pickle, but the top of the pickle jar with no other pickle in the jar except Lary. Cool! So that's what the top of the pickle jar looks like! "We've got to get out of here!" I screamed. "I have a plan!" said Lary "We can.......Ummm......We can...". "You don't have a plan, do you, Lary". "Ummmmm......no" Lary said quietly.
Suddenly, the fridge door flung open and a hand grabbed the pickle jar! The lid came off and a hand reached in................................"Ahhhhhhhhhh" Lary screamed very loudly. The hand continued to reach in and then suddenly..............out of nowhere........ one of the other pickles from the pickle jar came charging at the side of the jar (I didn't know pickles could run) and knocked it over! Lary and I came flying out of it and landed on the counter beside all of the other pickles that must of escaped last night.
I opened my eyes and it looked like we were somewhere very far away from the fridge where I used to live. Just then I remembered what I wished would happen to me someday. Today was the day that it happened to me. this was the best day of my life.
That night I slept beside the pickle that saved my life. "Billy" I said "Yesterday.....did you... did you hear me when I said that someday I wanted to escape somewhere where something exciting would happen to me?" "You know what, Bob..............No" answered Billy and then 2 seconds after that he was fast asleep.
The next morning Billy, instead of saying Bob get up, jumped on me to wake me up. "We have a long way to walk today" said Billy. We walked, and walked, and walked for what seemed to be 2 hours. When we sat down to have a break I looked behind us to see how far we had gone and to my disappointment we had only walked about a meter from the bush where we had slept last night. Apparently pickles are very slow at walking. After our break we walked for about another 2 hours and went about meter further. After we had walked for a little bit, Billy stopped us and said "We have to find some way to go a little bit faster because we will never get to where we are going at this pace!" "Where are we going?" asked Lary. " "you'll see" said Billy. We kept walking until it got dark and it seemed like it was the middle of the night. We stopped again to sleep and then in the morning we woke up and started walking again.
After a long time of walking Billy stopped us and said we're here". We walked through a big door and looked around. "Isn't this where we started?" said Bob. "Nope" said Billy "it's one of my friends house" We followed Billy to the fridge and the door swung open. "Hi" said one of the pickles "come on in!". We all jumped into the fridge and then in the pickle jar. "The people who live here never eat the pickles" explained Billy "So that's why I decided to come here!".
After that we all had a happy life living in the pickle jar not ever worrying about being eaten and I'm glad my life ended this way instead of being eaten and I am also glad that something interesting happened in my life just like I always wanted something to.

What Midlde School is like for me

-The difference between middle School and Elementary School
-The subjects that are fun/ones that are boring
-The teachers
-Ways that middle school is fun/ways that it is boring

Middle School is a lot different than I thought it would be. It is also a lot different than Elementary school. In some ways I think that Elementary school was better but in other ways Middle school can be better, too. One thing that I really like about Middle school is that we have 1234 days and 5678 days. I really like that because if you have lots of homework that day or you forget to do it, it's never due the next day. In Elementary school if you have lots of homework (which you usually don't) it is usually due the next day. One thing that I really liked about Elementary school is that I didn't have to take the bus because our house was close enough that we could just walk to school. There are a lot of ways that Middle school is different that elementary but those are just a few examples.
Every day starts just about the same way. First, I wake up really early at about 6:45 (which I don't like) and get dressed. After that I go downstairs, eat breakfast, and pack my backpack. At about 7:40 I start walking to meet Emma to walk to the bus stop. When we get there if it is cold we wait inside (our bus stop is at Peachland Elementary), but if it is warm enough we wait outside. When the bus comes we get on and we usually sit right up close to the front because it is too loud and noisy at the back of the bus. When we get to Farren's bus stop she gets on and usually sits near us. Farren's bus stop is the last stop so after that we go drive straight to the school.
When we get there we are usually the first ones off the bus because we are so close up to the front. When we get inside we sometimes go to Coral's locker first and then back down to ours. After we put our stuff away we have about 15 or 20 minutes left before the first bell rings. Sometimes Emma and I go down to the library to see if Rebecca and Raine are there. If they are we usually sit down and read with them. A few minutes before the bell rings we go back up to our lockers so that we have time to get our binders and get to our first class.
When we get there we usually get to pick where ever we want to sit. I usually sit with Rebecca and Farren. After our first class we have a break. We go down to our lockers, get our snack, and get whatever we need for our next class. Unless our next class is P.E, we bring our snack there and the door is usually open so we jut go in, sit down, and eat our snack. After our second class, it is lunch time. We usually eat lunch in the multi-purpose area where there are a whole bunch of tables set up against the wall. After lunch we go to our third and then fourth classes and then it is time to go home. We go down to our lockers and get our stuff and then since our bus driver has to drive a few kids into Summerland before he comes here we have to wait for about 10-15 minutes. After we get on the bus we usually sit near the front again. When it gets to our stop we get off and it takes about 10 minutes to get home. When I get home I do my homework and then after a while it is time for supper.
I really love some of the subjects that we get to do. But some of them, like science, get very boring sometimes. Some of my favourite subjects are Band, English, English Writing, Social Studies, and Aces. Last year science was one of my favourite subjects because our teacher taught it to us in a way that it was lots of fun and it was very interesting at the same time. In grade 6 we got to do lots of experiments and we barely ever just answered questions out of a text book. In science this year Mr. Currier is teaching us lots of stuff but the way he teaches it to us is really boring. He just tells us a little bit about it, tells us to read about it in the text book, and then answer some questions. When a teacher teaches something to me in that way, it makes sense to me when I'm are answering the questions and reading the text book, but it isn't fun at all and only a little bit interesting so I don't remember it very well because it wasn't taught in an interesting way. I really wish Science was more interesting this year. I really love English writing because I love to write stories and we get to write a lot of them. Mr. hayhurst is one of my favourite teachers. Another class that I really love is band because we get to learn a lot of new songs and I am really glad that I chose to play the flute. Sometimes band hard when we are learning a new song and can also be less fun when we have a substitute teacher. We also have Mrs. Sinhuber for english. Some people say that english is the same as english writing for them, but for us most of the things that we do are different. One of the only things that we do that are the same is we have a blog in English, but it is just for the poetry that we are doing. Most of my classes are really fun but some of them can get very boring.
I really like most of my teacher and the way that they teach us. Mr. Hayhurst is my favourite teacher because he is really funny and he teaches us writing skills in a really fun way. Another one of my favourite teachers is Mrs. Sinhuber. Most of my teachers are really nice and they teach us in a really fun way. When I was in Elementary school and I didn't know anything about Middle school yet I thought that it was going to be really, really boring and I also thought that all the teachers were going to be really mean, but I was completely wrong.
Some of the things that I really love about Middle school are; Having lockers so that if you bring something valuable to school you know that no one can steal it when it is locked up in your locker, you don't have all your subjects in one class and you don't only have one teacher, that there are 1234 days and 5678 days, and that the Library is open all the time. Some of the things that I don't like about Middle school are; that you always have to walk up all the stairs, that I have to wake up at 6:45, and that I have to take the bus. Some of the classes that I love are; English writing, English, Band, Social Studies, Aces, P.E and Math. The class I don't like is; Science.
There are a few things that could be changed to make GMS better but there are also a lot of things that I love about it and a lot of other people propbably love ,too. GMS is a really great school!!!

The Christmas Present

I had been sitting on the shelf in the store for what seemed like a very long time. Day after day after day I sit on the cold and sometimes uncomfortable shelf. I really wish that one day someone would come and buy me. From the first day I got put on the shelf in this toy store my wish has been to be bought, wrapped up in Christmas wrapping paper, and put under the beautiful Christmas Tree. That has been my wish from the very first day I got here and I really hope that this Christmas is the Christmas that my dream will come true.

One morning, it was a week before Christmas, very early in the morning when I was still sleeping on the shelf when I felt someone pick me up. I looked around wondering where I was going. Suddenly I got put down and I sat there for about five seconds until suddenly I got thrown into a plastic bag. After I fell to the bottom a few more things got thrown in on top of me and I was very uncomfortable. The bag got picked up again. I heard a door open and a then suddenly the temperature turned from very warm to very cold.

The plastic bag I was in got set down and I heard a car door close. I was very quiet for a little while and then I heard the car start. Where was I going! It was very scary inside this dark, cold plastic bag and I was really wishing that I was back in the warm, familiar, toy store.

After a while the car stopped and my plastic bag got picked up again. I heard another door open and my bag got put down. I got taken out of it and I got to look around for only about two seconds until I got stuffed into a box. I felt like I was sitting in that small, dark box for a long time. After a while I started to get very cold.

After I finally fell asleep, someone picked me up and from what I heard it sounded like I got put into another car on top of a pile of other boxes . That was the best part of my journey because it was very warm in the car and it reminded me of the toy store where I used to live. The car ride lasted for a very long time and I loved every minute of it. I was very tired after my very long day I felt like I needed to have a long, long sleep. So for the whole long car ride I had a very long sleep.

When the car finally stopped and I woke up, someone started to unload all the boxes. I felt the same feeling that I felt when I got carried out of the toy store. One minute it was very warm and then suddenly the temperature turned very cold. When we got inside the warm house, I heard paper being cut...... maybe it was wrapping paper and I was being wrapped up as a Christmas present. I sat quietly for a few minutes listening to the paper being cut until I felt my box being picked up. I looked out of a little hole that was on the side of my box and I that's when I saw it......... the thing that I've been waiting to see for my whole life...................... the giant, tall, beautiful............ CHRISTMAS TREE!!!!!! Was I dreaming or was this really happening to me?! Was my dream coming true? This was it! This was the Christmas that I would become a Christmas present! After about five seconds that I got to look at the beautiful Christmas Tree the wrapping paper got taped over top of my hole.

I felt my box being carried over to the Christmas Tree and then it got put down. I waited in the dark for a second until suddenly I heard a little girl say "oops!" and a Christmas decoration that she must of dropped hit the side of my box where the hole was and broke through the wrapping paper! I could see it again! I could see the Christmas Tree!! I was so happy that when ever I wake up I can look out the little hole and the first thing that I see is the Christmas Tree!

I couldn't wait until Christmas! Sometimes it got very boring just sitting in this box, but I'm just glad that my dream has come true and I have become a Christmas present and I am very that I have a very small little hole in my box that I can look at the Christmas Tree through.

It felt like I was waiting in my box for about five years (even though I was only waiting for one week) when one day I heard two people running down the stairs and yelling "Santa was here! Santa was here!". After a while I heard paper being ripped which must have been wrapping paper on presents being opened. I couldn't wait until I was going to be opened! I was getting really excited until I heard someone saying "Well, that's all of them". Suddenly I went from being very, very excited to very sad. That was it.... Christmas was over.... All the presents were unwrapped and it turned out that I wasn't a Christmas present. I went on that long tiring journey for nothing. I spent all my time from sitting in the toy store to getting squished into a bag, riding in the car, getting stuffed into a box, getting "paper" (not Christmas wrapping paper) stuffed on to me and then getting put under the Christmas Tree as a "pretend' present!!! this is the absolute WORST Christmas ever!!!!

After a while of sitting under the tree as a pretend present and feeling very sad and mad at the same time I heard someone say "What about this one?" and I felt my box being picked up. Someone started ripping the paper off of my box and the the box opened. "A Teddy Bear!" I heard a little girl say happily. She picked me up and hugged me. "This is the best Christmas present ever!" She said.

I hope that all the toys that get bought out of the toy store I came from get to have as good a journey and as great a Christmas as I did because even though earlier I said that this Christmas was the worst Christmas ever........it turned out in the end to be the best Christmas I have ever had and the best Christmas I ever will have for the rest of my life.

THE END!!

Christmas Memory

I woke up on Christmas morning and looked over to see if my sister, Hannah was still sleeping (she wasn't). I quickly ran up the stairs to look in my stocking. Hannah was already up there sitting on the couch. When everybody else was up we all sat down by the Christmas tree and opened our presents. I looked out the window and snow was softly falling.

After breakfast (and opening presents) we all went outside and the driveway was completely covered in snow, lots of snow. After we had been shoveling for what seemed like a long long time there was still a lot of snow in the driveway. The pile we had made was HUGE but it was still going to get a lot bigger. It was almost big enough to make a snow fort.

There was a tall tree that was covered in snow by the side of the driveway. I walked over to it (Hannah followed me) and stepped into the snow beside it. The snow was a little bit higher than my knee and it was freezing! When I stepped into the snow my snow pants came up of my boots and when my leg sunk my boots filled up with the freezing snow! I looked at all the snow again. We still had to shovel all of that snow too!

I decided to start building the snow fort. I climbed over the huge pile of snow and started digging a hole. After a while Hannah came and helped me. The she had an idea that she could start digging another hole over farther than my hole and then we can connect them together.
After the driveway was all shoveled, everyone went inside to have lunch and get warmed up. One of the presents that we got for Christmas was a wii so we played dance dance revolution and wii sports.

After we stayed inside for a while we went back outside to finish the snow fort. The driveway was covered in more snow again. This time Dad was helping up finish the fort. It took a long time and it collapsed a few time but finally it was finished. This was the best snow fort ever! It had windows and two entrances. It had chairs and even a snow T.V! We probably could of made it bigger so that we could almost stand up because it kept snowing, and snowing, and snowing. That Christmas was the best Christmas ever!

The Bad Dream

After a long day of running Anna discovered that her head had grown a book. She had just walked in the door and she was very tired. She walked over to the fridge and poured herself a glass of water. When she was finished drinking she layed down on the couch to read a book.

Suddenly she felt something weired on her head. "Ouch!" she said and rubbed her head. Then she went back to reading her book. In the middle of reading her book she was so tired from running all day.

The next morning she woke up and her her head felt heavier for some reason but she didn't think anything about it until she looked in the mirror. "Ahhhhh" she yelled as she looked in the mirror and saw what looked like a book that had grown out of her head "What can I do to cover it up when I go to school". She did everything she could think of to cover up the book. She Tried every hat in the house that they had but they were all too small to cover up the book. Finally she thought of a solution.

Before she went to school that day she went to the dollar store and bought a wig that was big enough to fit over the book. You would think that she wouldn't want to leave her room with a book sticking out of her head but when she put on her coat she just put her hood up (I don't know why she didn't just go to school that way). When she walked into her classroom that day she was lucky.........
that it was Halloween or else she would of looked weird. There was only one little problem that she forgot about. At the end of every Halloween day at her school there was a bully that ripped off everyone's hats that they wear with there costumes and that bully........was standing right behind her. Rip!!! He ripped off her wig and EVERYONE was staring at her. This was a night mare....a horrible night mare. "Why couldn't I have just stayed home" she thought to herself. "Anna come here" she heard someone say softly. Suddenly she felt someone shaking her and she opened her eyes and found out that it was just a night mare. She was so glad that there wasn't actually a book growing out of her head. She was so happy.
